Kicking dirt and bacteria into touch.
About London Westfields White City’s Nike Store
In 2022 Nike opened its most innovative and cutting-edge store to date. Aside from its retail ambitions the store sets out to connect sport, the city and athletes with a bespoke digital led shopping experience. The store offers visitors interconnectivity from the moment they enter the store with links to Nike apps inspiring athletes to keep moving.
Sustainable future is a key feature
Nike was keen to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability within the re-fit of the store.
The store has been credited in industry press for achieving gold LEED certification for its use sustainable features throughout the building. The LEED certification system is based on a holistic approach to sustainability, encouraging the combined use of many different elements to make buildings more sustainable. The ultimate goal is to promote sustainable cycles resulting in a contribution to a reduction in climate change.
Cotech Biosafe protects and extends the life of high touch areas contributing to your sustainability goals
Cotech Biosafe was applied to high touch points within the newly re-fitted Nike Store at Westfield White City, London. In line with Nike’s commitment to sustainability, the application of Cotech Biosafe to all worktops and fixtures not only reduces the amount of water used in extensive cleaning regimes, but also protects them against the need for regular replacement.
Reducing the frequency of costly re-fits not only meets Nike’s sustainability goals by reducing the frequency with which these items need to be replaced (and therefore placed into, at best the recycling system, at worst into landfill) but also has an immediate financial advantage, demonstrating that sustainability isn’t just the right thing to do, it also positively affects the bottom-line.
The application of Cotech Biosafe in the Nike store keeps retail areas looking fresh and clean and also has the added bonus of reducing bacteria growth by up to 99.9%, a particular concern in retail where areas can be touched by thousands of hands each day. Airborne dust particles are repelled and unsightly, handprints and finger marks are easily removed due to Cotech Biosafe’s barrier technology.
This was the second store that Cotech has completed for Nike, the first being their iconic flagship store in Oxford Street, Nike Town, London.
Cotech Biosafe, part of Coatings Tech, uses intelligent antimicrobial surface technology to give long lasting protection to most surfaces.
